Four ways to log, one tap each
Snap it: point the camera at your plate. The AI identifies each food and estimates portions — you confirm or adjust, and it’s logged.
Speak it: say what you ate in your own words — “chicken, rice and a coke” — and the Engine breaks it into foods with macros.
Scan it: barcode-scan packaged foods, or photograph the nutrition label when a product isn’t in the database. Nothing you buy is unloggable.
Type it: plain words work too. Quantities, brands and combinations resolve in seconds — no picking from 47 near-identical database entries.
How accurate is the nutrition data?
Whole foods are checked against USDA-backed nutrition data, and branded or restaurant foods are verified at the source where possible — you’ll see a “Verified” badge when the numbers come from the brand itself and a clear “Estimated by AI” label when they don’t.
That distinction matters: most trackers show user-submitted entries with no provenance at all. Meal Engine tells you where every number came from.
Can I log restaurant and takeaway food?
Yes. Name the restaurant item — “Big Mac”, “Chipotle chicken bowl” — and the Engine looks it up and verifies the nutrition against the brand’s own published data where available.
If you’re on PLAN, the rest of your day rebalances around what you ate, so eating out doesn’t break the plan.
Do I have to weigh and measure everything?
No. Photo logging estimates portions for you, and everything is editable with simple steppers — servings, grams, or natural units like “2 slices”. Precision is available when you want it, never demanded.
Can the AI coach log food for me?
Yes. Tell the Engine in chat — or on a call — “log my breakfast: 2 eggs with spinach and toast” and it logs it, then tells you exactly what’s left for the day.
Common questions
Does photo logging work for home-cooked meals?
Yes. The AI identifies the individual foods on your plate and estimates portions; you can adjust any item before confirming.
What if a barcode isn’t recognised?
Photograph the nutrition label instead — Meal Engine reads the panel and logs the product with its real values, including serving size.
Do I need to log everything if I’m on PLAN?
No. Your planned meals are already counted — you mostly just tick them off and record changes, snacks or meals out.
Is voice logging fast enough to use daily?
That’s the point of it. One sentence logs a whole meal — no menus, no search results, no typing every ingredient.
